After Sun

RODRIGO GARCIA

Designed to charm, shock and disturb, its purpose is to upset the applecart of safe, clean theatre, throwing us headfirst into furiously appealing works that reduce our conventional theatregoing habits to ashes. It comes via a name to remember — Rodrigo García.

Details

An Argentine who moved to Spain after experiencing dictatorship in his native land, this playwright, director and sculptor of space and sound founded La Carnicería Teatro (Butcher Shop Theatre) with the aim of understanding the truth of the human body. Recalcitrant for some yet radically innovative for others, García and his audacious actors take risks with disturbing work that ventures far from the usual comfort zone to give meaning, in a form both pertinent and extraordinary, to the chaos of our era. After Sun is without doubt one of the most impassioned and fiery new works of recent years. Watch out for sunburn!
