Four flabbergasted Australopithecus bipedal primates – crafty devils to a “man”! – make a series of major discoveries in record time. They establish a highly fallible method of classification that consists of separating things that make a pokpok sound from those that do not make a pokpok sound. Nonchalantly, in an unconventional microcosm no bigger than a theatre stage, they brilliantly demonstrate the fabrication of theatre, offering a wild, exhilarating philosophical epic from start to finish. How, in little more than an hour, do they move from the big bang to the end of time without delving into all the in-between? Absolutely hilarious.
The quirky humour of &&&&& & &&& enchanted festivalgoers in 2012. Once again, Antoine Defoort and Halory Goerger pose as slightly bewildered methodical deities, using everything they have to demonstrate the logic of a completely screwball undertaking. Juxtaposing a series of preposterous ideas, they reimagine the universe and the construction of man with logic that is both disconcerting and screamingly funny.

Great Explorers
Antoine Defoort and Halory Goerger are, in no particular order, musicians, actors, philosophers, pranksters, artists and inventors. Their co-op, L'amicale de production, presents projects developed by various artists, a system that offers each creative team complete independence. Their crazy, ingenious shows turn the codes of representation upside down. Merrily mixing together different artistic genres, each contributes different elements, whether that be sound poetry, a Kraftwerk song sung by a choir or interactive installations. Each one also presents solo works; Indigence = élégance for Antoine Defoort (presented in Montreal and Quebec City in 2010), Métrage variable for Halory Goerger. The two men blithely jump from one subject to another as the spectators create their own connections, astounded and stimulated by one madcap revelation after another.
