With two months to go, it is with great emotion and excitement that Artistic Director Martin Faucher is now unveiling seven productions, including six world premieres, that will be part of the 15th edition of the FTA from May 26 to June 12, 2021.
Festival TransAmériques is delighted to announce the appointment of Martine Dennewald and Jessie Mill, who will take over the artistic direction of the Festival together. Following in the footsteps of Martin Faucher, who is leaving his position as head of the organization at the end of the 15th edition this spring, they will take up their duties this summer, starting with the curation of the FTA’s 2022 edition.
Festival TransAmériques is very pleased to join forces with the company RD Créations for the creation of BOW’T TRAIL Tio’tia:ke, an upcoming piece by the choreographer Rhodnie Désir that will be co-produced by the FTA.
Last spring the pandemic turned everything upside down, calling into question the order of things and ways of doing things, leading the Festival TransAmériques to rethink its responsibility and its activities. Given the current context, the Festival is launching a new initiative in support of artists: the FTA Breathing Space, investing $244,000 to support 27 projects by 42 artists from Quebec and across Canada
Martin Faucher, artistic director and co-executive director of Festival TransAmériques, has announced that he will step down as head of the Festival at the end of the 15th edition in June 2021.
