Montreal March 22, 2016 – The FTA sparkles, rejoices, transports, surprises, inflames, fascinates, disturbs and explodes in Montreal from May 26 to June 8, 2016. The biggest contemporary dance and theatre festival in North America will present 25 shows from here and elsewhere, including 12 co-productions, 10 world premieres and 10 North American premieres, over 14 days in some fifteen cultural venues. Five must-see performances
Montreal, February 8, 2016 – The artistic director of the FTA Martin Faucher announced today five shows that will captivate audiences during the 10th edition of the Festival TransAmériques, which will take place from May 26 to June 8, 2016. While the news that Italian director Romeo Castellucci will be returning with Go Down, Moses has been known since December, four other outstanding shows will delight dance and theatre fans this spring: Une île flottante / Das Weisse vom Ei by Christoph Marthaler, Mille batailles by Louise Lecavalier, L’autre hiver by Normand Chaurette, Stéphanie Jasmin, Denis Marleau and Dominique Pauwels, and Gala by Jérôme Bel. TARTUFFE AND TOUT ARTAUD?! RECEIVE 2014-15 PRIX DE LA CRITIQUE AWARDS
The Association québécoise des critiques de théâtre (AQCT) announced on November 25 the winners of the Prix de la critique for the 2014-15 season in Montreal. The FTA is especially proud to note that among the winning plays are two works presented at the FTA in 2015. TARTUFFE by Michaël Thalheimer and the prestigious Schaubühne in Berlin won in the category Hors Québec, and TOUT ARTAUD?!

2015 MONTREAL DANCE PRIZE AWARDED TO ALAIN PLATEL
The entire FTA team wishes to pay tribute to the choreographer Alain Platel, who received the 2015 GRAND PRIX de la danse de Montréal for his acclaimed performances of tauberbach at the FTA last May, a work presented in collaboration with Hydro-Québec. The jury emphasized “his considerable influence on contemporary dance and the persistent relevance of his work.” Jury members also noted “the quality of his artistic work as well as his commitment to art and to Les ballets C de la B, a remarkable incubator of talent in Belgium.
