Je suis TBA brings together electrifying mixes of electronic music with rhythms that are found outside the so-called Western sphere. She is also a founding member of Flat Cola, a non-profit initiative supporting women and female-identified DJs around the world.

As a Kanien’kehá:ka artist, she creates art with the influences of her culture and contemporary Pop-art. She began her DJ career in 2015 while studying media and art in Montréal. Pøptrt previously performed at Piknic Électronik, Future Forest, Igloofest, and is currently the resident DJ at Club Unity.

Passionate about promoting Pan-African culture through sound and movement, she has become a sought-after artist on the local music scene. Empress has performed at major festivals and events such as FTA, Piknic Électronik, Moonshine, and many others, bringing her infectious energy and groove to the dance floor. Her goal is to get people moving and grooving, while creating an immersive cultural experience through her music. Her vibrant sets are not to be missed.

She values acceptance and diversity which transpires in the venues and events she plays. She performed at indoor and outdoors event as well such as Beachclub opening for Rema, Moonshine, Jerk, Mural festival and more. In 2020, she founded Occupy the Hood, a NPO who focus on black rights and been operating it since. Known names she played alongside include Kaytranada, Pierre Kwenders, Bambii, Bearcat, Dj Firmeza, Vanyfox and more.
