Genesi, from the museum of sleep
The theatrical journey of the Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio is a unique one, and the work of Romeo Castellucci one of the most radical adventures in contemporary theatre.
After The Orestia, this time his source of inspiration is none other than the book of Genesis. A master at exploring the despair of human suffering and sensory turmoil, here he orchestrates a hallucinating triptych that evokes the inexpressible links between creation and its demise: the discovery of radium, Auschwitz, the primordial murder of Abel. Words are silenced. A space that is first black, then white, then red is pierced by tones and dissonance, giving rise to visionary images peopled by the suffering bodies of animals and children, portraits of startling lyrical power
