So goes the legend of the Quiche Mayans in this colorful outdoor production by Chile’s Gran Circo Teatro.In Popol Vuh, Andres Perez Araya has perfected a most unique style of allegory: winged creatures, humans and costumed demigods perform a series of ritual dances evoking the sacred myths from the Mayan book of creation. Javierra Parra’s haunting voice is the perfect accompaniment on this journey into the supernatural world of ancient Guatemala.
