Road to Heaven
More invigorating than an aerobics class, more rock n’roll than Elvis, the Beatles or Travolta and as disturbing as an unlikely Bob Dylan/Devo duo, the Young@Heart Chorus is, in full performance mode, all that and more. These 25 golden agers (average age 78) are talented singers, each one with an individual style and musical register coupled with a gift for joyous celebration.
For the sheer fun of it, they plunge into the popular songs of early rock’n roll music in a exquisitely paced show. They waltz, jitterbug, twist, bebop and line dance like old hands. These enchanting performers strike the sensitive chords of memory and prejudice with a sense of self-deprecating élan, managing to turn even jaded audiences into avid groupies.
