Work in progress: Nigamon/Tunai

Artists and activists Émilie Monnet and Waira Nina Jacanamijoy have been collaborating for almost ten years on solidarity-based exchanges between their respective Anishinaabeg and Inga communities—and, more broadly, with other Indigenous artists. This has inspired a new work currently in development. In Nigamon/Tunai, they explore what it means to be a good ally. At the intersection of friendship and the battle for land rights, these two women invite us to take part in a moment of sharing, founded on the living knowledge that connects Indigenous peoples from the North and the South.
