The North

William Yang

Illustrated by superb images and full of subtle humour, photographer William Yang’s quest for identity takes place on stage in half-tones, in a sober and discreet telling set to a soothing musical soundscape.

Details

A descendant of Chinese immigrants who settled in Australia at the turn of the century, Yang goes back to his roots, putting his family photo album on display, journeying back to childhood haunts and the land of his ancestors and questioning his double identity as an artist and a «visible minority» in a symbolic, sensitive and profoundly moving performance.
