lets op Bach
“This little thing about Bach,” with its horde of fallen angels who float through life on his music and famous melodies, is a diamond in the rough. Surrounded by an extraordinary band of musicians and singers, Alain Platel fully masters the arts of the fugue and the punch in the gut.
Caught in the act or on the sly, marginal characters weave together daily life, with its moments of seduction, rivalry, solitude, expectation, eating, washing and escape. It flaunts an unpredictable, highly dramatic logic, where acrobatic numbers, circus and cabaret acts, dance and theatre erupt in a raw, impure form. A slice of life bursts into bits, exposing its scars and the mad desire for exaltation, creating a corro.
