LE SOLDAT DE BOIS

JEAN-CLAUDE CÔTÉ, OLIVIER CHOINIÈRE

Four young people caught between adolescence and adulthood must find the story of their beginnings, their own “Once upon a time.”

Details

They take over the home of their father, a man lost in the threads of his own existence who no longer knows or never knew what to say. The presence of metaphorical characters such as a uniform-general and a Pinocchio-cat endow this story with the heady, enigmatic depth of an initiatory tale. From Olivier Choinière’s wild imagination springs a robust language rich in innuendo. A tale in memory of the absent father and of a life to live.
