Mil quinientos metros sobre el nivel de Jack

FEDERICO LEÒ

In a bathroom complete to the last detail are a mother in a bathing suit and her son in diving gear. Seated in a bathtub full of water, they engage in conversation. A television set is turned on but displays no image, adding another element to this perfectly surreal tableau. The script, full of allusions and veiled terms clearly heard, makes reference to the father who has disappeared at sea and to life flowing by all around them as they withdraw in seclusion, cut off from the world.

Details

The arrival of two other characters, a young woman and her son with a story similar to theirs, sets off a fascinating and unpredictable chain of events. The characters function according to another logic, a different objectivity. Primal and symbolic, with desires so close they breathe, the stakes are the same for actors and audience alike.
