EVELYNE DE LA CHENELIÈRE

An incursion into the writing and into the wild imaginations of Evelyne de la Chenelière revisited by five creative performers. An act of faith in the power of words.

Details

Outstanding writer, passionate actress. The woman of the theatre Evelyne de la Chenelière invites spectators to an unconventional event, to an incursion into her writing and into the wild imaginations of her creative performers. From that provocative mix a feast of words emerges, a joyous theatrical frolic. A playful, passionate experience.

Since September 2014, Evelyne de la Chenelière has been on a writing frenzy. The long wall of the café-bar at Théâtre ESPACE GO, where she is artist-in-residence, is covered with her unique poetry, her lively questionings, her singular calligraphy, real terrain for experimentation. From this literary landscape five actors have each created a short text, freely tinkering with locutions, stealing excerpts, juxtaposing and separating, distorting and flaunting phrases. The complicit spectator observes the unveiling of five personal, intimate interpretations taken from a wall that questions the possibility of starting afresh. This encounter between creation and interpretation is an act of faith in the power of words, an imaginary wall that pulls down barriers of the stage.
