FRANK KETCHUP
Frankenstein, a cold-blooded icon suffused with terror. Never in the history of humanity have we ever been so close to the myth, for we are at the beginning of a new era, where reshaping and remaking the body is widespread, a game of combinations where the frontiers between people and things, between beings and matter, will gradually dissolve.
Founded in September 1993, Le Pont Bridge is a multidisciplinary creative cell. In tune with technology and adopting an adaptable and inventive approach, under artistic director Carole Nadeau the group creates urban legends that act on the spectator’s senses and perception in pieces that combine theatre, installation art and video, and that explore the connections between words, the body, space and image. A playful theatrical collage that mixes multimedia with a “thrilleresque” approach that evokes the cloning and experimentation of genetic manipulation, Frank Ketchup questions our desire to remain human and takes a humorous look at the new power of the biosciences, which will drastically change our ways of thinking and of relating to each other, transforming our intimate thoughts and psychological bearings. Frankenstein was a myth, but Frank Ketchup exists. He’s already here.
